WOMEN’S SOCCER ANNOUNCES KENT AS LATEST RECRUIT

The press release below is from the Ryerson University website dated August 7, 2018.

TORONTO – Keira Kent will join the Ryerson Rams women’s soccer team as the fifth recruit of the 2018-19 recruiting class, as announced by the team on Tuesday.

A native of Etobicoke, Ont., Kent joins the Rams from just outside the city. The defender played her club soccer with the Toronto Blizzard, competing in both the U21 Provincial Elite and League One divisions.  Prior to her time with the Blizzard, Kent played for the Woodbridge Strikers.

In 2017, Kent won the Ontario Cup with her U21 Blizzard team, an accomplishment she names as the highlight of her athletic career.

Kent graduated from Richview Collegiate Institute in Etobicoke, captaining her school’s soccer team last season. She was also named as the team’s most valuable player in both 2017 and 2018.

Kent will enter Ryerson’s English program in the fall.

“I wanted a school that would compliment me in many ways,” says Kent. “I love the downtown atmosphere and how everyone there tries to make you feel as at home as possible.”
